We're Hiring! Library Assistant III / Library Associate I - Part-Time

The Caroline County Public Library seeks a dynamic, innovative, community-oriented individual to provide high-quality customer service at all locations. 29 hours per week including daytime, evenings until 8pm, and Saturdays. Starting salary is $16.72/hr. Part-time library employees participate in the MD State Retirement System and receive no other benefits.

Qualified applicants must possess excellent customer service skills, proficiency in Windows and Mac OS and a strong desire to work with the public.

Applicant must possess a Maryland Class “C” drivers license or equivalent from another state.  Employees are expected to work at all library locations and may travel for outreach events.  Library employees receive training and continuing education that may require overnight travel and/or flexible scheduling. 

Duties include reference and referral information services, circulation and clerical work, computer and electronic device assistance, shelving, programming, and other projects and tasks as assigned.

Punctuality, confidentiality, accuracy and personal responsibility are essential job standards.  Excellent written and verbal communications skills, along with superior ability to collaborate with library staff and community partners, are required. Applicants must be willing and able to quickly adapt to the changing needs of the community, library services and technology.
