Library to go Frequently Asked Questions
Thanks for everyone’s interest in our new Library to Go curbside service! We’re glad to be connecting people with books and DVDs, and games, and more again. The following are questions we’ve received about the Library to Go service. If you don’t see your question on here, please call 410-479-1343 x106. A librarian will assist you.
I want to get a Caroline County library card! How do I do that if the building's closed?
I usually receive letters telling me when I have holds available. Will that still happen?
Library staff will call you instead.
I received a notice saying items were checked out on my card, but I haven't been to the library yet!
To ensure short wait times when you arrive for pickup, Library to Go staff checks your items out in advance.
I returned my items in the book drop, but they're still showing as "checked out" on my library account!
All items returned to the library are put in quarantine for 7 days before staff handles them.
If my items stay on my card a week after I return them, how does that affect the 10-item limit on my library card?
Any one person can have up to 20 items on their card at a time: 10 items in quarantine and 10 items in their possession. 5 of each of those 10 can be DVDs.
How does materials quarantine affect my due date?
Caroline County Library is fine-free. Our catalog prevents us from modifying due dates, so you may receive notices that items you returned are overdue. You may ignore these notices.
If the date on my checkout slip is inaccurate, when are my items due?
We encourage you to return items within the usual checkout time span (within 3 weeks of pickup for books and 1 week for DVDs). Thank you for helping us provide as large a collection as possible!
When will Library to Go be available at other Caroline Library branches? What about other services the library used to offer?
Library staff is hard at work designing ways to provide additional services as safely as possible. We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
