It's All Coming Together

Renovation Update #16

It’s been a while since our last update and as you can see from the pictures to the left our contractors have managed to get quite a bit done over the past few weeks. The installation of our beautiful new rubber flooring is off to a nice start and we hope to have that finished in the next week or two. Other areas of the library, such as the adult fiction area and children’s rooms will have gorgeous new carpet that we can’t wait to show you! Additionally, the casework for our new service desks has been installed. We expect to have the countertops for these desks installed in the coming weeks.

What's the Plan?

While significant progress has been made there a still quite a few things that need to be done before we can reopen the first floor of the Central Library. By the end of August we hope to have your new shelving installed, which will allow us to pull our collection out of storage and work on getting it unpacked and back onto the shelves. There are, of course, various inspections and punch lists that must be completed before we are able to finally wrap this project up. If all goes according to plan, we hope to be able to reopen the first floor sometime in the Fall. Until then, you can still enjoy the services and resources provided by our Mini-Library located on the 2nd floor.
