Databases are accessible in all Caroline County Libraries. Outside the library, your 14-digit library card number will be needed for database access.

Business Collection – Provides full-text coverage of all business disciplines including accounting, economics, finance, marketing, management, and strategy.

Business Economics and Theory – Access to full-text academic journals and magazines, with a strong emphasis on titles covered in the EconLit bibliographic index.

Communications and Mass Media Collection – Compiles academic journal articles on advertising, public relations, linguistics, and literature.

Criminal Justice Collection – Informs the research process for those studying law, law enforcement, terrorism, homeland security, forensic science, and more.

Creativebugoffers online video arts and crafts workshops and techniques. Learn how to paint, knit, crochet, sew, screen print, and more.

Culinary Arts Collection – Offers more than five million articles from more than 250 major cooking and nutrition magazines, as well as book reference content.

Denton Journal-Newspaper ARCHIVE  – 

The Denton Journal newspaper from 1870-1965 and other Maryland newspapers. 

Diversity Studies Collection – Collection of journals that explores cultural differences, contributions and influences in the global community.

Driver Education  – Contains state-specific information including 10 car practice tests, 6 motorcycle practice tests, 3 CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) practice tests, 3 online driver’s manuals (car, motorcycle, CDL), and a FAQ section with detailed answers to 100+ DMV-related questions.

Educators Reference Complete – Full-text for titles found in the ERIC database, covering multiple levels of education from preschool to college, and every educational specialty.

Environmental Studies and Policy Collection – Addresses environmental concerns and research with coverage from more than 300 journals and book reference content.

Expanded Academic ASAP – Full-text, abstracts, and indexes are integrated with core titles in every major academic concentration, as well as new vocational/technical titles used by community college students.

Gale in Context: Elementary – Research content designed for young learners, featuring an easy-to-use interface with age-appropriate, reliable, curriculum-related content, covering a broad range of topics.

Gale In Context: Middle School – Middle-school content covering the most-studied topics in literature, science, social studies, and history, as well as social issues.

General OneFile – Large general-interest periodical database with more than 8,000 titles, including reference, newspaper, and audio content, in addition to journals and magazines.

General Science Collection – Compiles the latest scientific developments in particle physics, advanced mathematics, nanotechnology, geology, and hundreds of other areas.

Grzimeks Animal Life Encyclopedia – A completely revised and updated version of the original work published in Germany in 1960, this edition incorporates recent developments in the animal world as noted by prominent advisors and contributors from the scientific community.

Heritage Quest – A comprehensive genealogical source powered by Ancestry that includes the census collection, city directories, military records, wills and probate records, images from the Freedman’s Bank, US Serial Sets, and plenty of maps and photos.

Home Improvement Collection – Offers more than 4.5 million articles from more than 200 home improvement-focused titles, covering topics including architectural techniques, tool and material selection, zoning requirements, and others.

Hoopla – Stream or download a variety of media, including eBooks, audiobooks, movies, tv shows, music, and more- all from major Hollywood studios, record companies, and publishers.

Information Science and Library Issues Collection – Provides access to periodical content covering all aspects of managing and maintaining information and technology.

Mango – An online language-learning system teaching conversational skills with four areas of learning: vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and culture. Over 72 languages are available to English speakers and over 21 modules are available to English-as-a-second-language (ESL) learners.

Military and Intelligence Database  – Offers authoritative periodical content covering past and present military affairs.

NewsBank – Search full-text and archived articles from local newspapers including the Bay Times (8/2/06-current), The Capital (1/1/02-current), Dorchester Star (6/30/06-current), Kent County News (11/30/06-current), Record Observer (8/4/06-current), Star Democrat (11/16/05-current) and the Times Record (8/2/06-current).

OneFile News – A full-text newspaper resource with access to over 2300 newspapers, images, radio/TV broadcasts, and transcripts.

Worldmark Encyclopedia of the Nations – Presents easy-to-understand, detailed information on 194 countries and dependencies from around the world.

Worldmark Encyclopedia of the States – Details current geographical, social, and political data, historical narrative, and statistical information on the 50 states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Caribbean and Pacific dependencies of the United States.
